Warning! Hand sanitizers are damaging children’s eyes
Paris: In the epidemic of COD 19, hand sanitizers that could potentially clean hands from the corona virus are now part of our lives. But these centrifuges placed in schools, markets and other places are damaging the skin of children and especially the eyes.
There was an incident in France in which a child had a hand sanitizer in his eye and had to be hospitalized. A subsequent study has revealed that if children are not taught the use of sanitizer, its side effects appear.
The French Poison Center, based in France, says that between April 1 and August 24, 2020, the incidence of eye infections in children increased sevenfold. Meanwhile, 16 children were hospitalized. Chemicals in the eyes of two children created a frightening situation in which tissue was transplanted into the cornea of their eyes.
According to the hospital management, all the children were under 4 years of age. This is because the sanitizers are one meter high where they are placed. This height reaches the waist of adults and the head of children, which causes them to drop the sanitizer on the face or eyes.
Dr. Catherine Colby, an ophthalmologist in New York, says that we are completely ignoring children in public places. In France, the rate of damage to children’s eyes from hand sanitizers in France was only 1.3%. In 2020, the rate rose to about 10 percent and 63 children were injured in public places
