Even a 5% weight loss can prevent diabetes, research shows
Illinois: Extensive research in the United States has found that a mere 5% weight loss can greatly reduce the risk of developing diabetes.
The study used health data from approximately 24,000 different ethnic Americans collected from 2001 to 2016, during two major studies.
The two studies, entitled “MESA” and “NHANES”, began in 1999 and 2000, respectively, and continue to this day.
