Corona virus shortens human life by 20 million years, research
LONDON: A global team of epidemiologists has estimated that the global corona epidemic, which has been raging for the past one year, has reduced the total number of human lives by 25 million (20.5 million) years, using data from 81 countries. ۔
It should be noted that the “wasted years of life” (YLL) is a medical scale in which the age of a person at the time of death is compared with the average human age in this country.
If the age of the deceased is less than this average, it is said that he died “prematurely” while this difference is termed as “wasted years of life”.
