Congo: Presidential candidate dies of corona virus
Opposition candidates in the Democratic Republic of Congo have died of the corona virus.
According to foreign media, the main opposition candidate contesting the presidential election in Congo, 61-year-old Perfit Collias, died the day after the election.
According to media reports, Coleas was infected with the corona virus and was taken to a hospital on the eve of the election.
Collias’ campaign manager said he was being flown from the Congolese capital to France on a medical aircraft when he died on the plane.
Colilas’ family confirmed his death, saying he was being treated at a private hospital in the Congolese capital after contracting the corona virus.
According to media reports, the presidential candidate did not participate in his last campaign due to illness and he expressed concern in the media that he is suffering from malaria.
